HOT DOG STYLE HAMBURGER
Just because it is fun to be different, I decided to make hamburgers that fit into hot dog buns. This is perfect if you have extra hot dog buns but feel like burgers or if you want hot dogs, brats, and burgers but don’t want to buy two sets of buns. The possibilities are endless!
½ cup bread crumbs
Dash salt
Dash paprika
2 dashes garlic powder
½ tablespoon minced garlic
Hot dog buns
Mild cheddar cheese slices
Ketchup
Mustard
Relish
1 yellow onion (optional)
2 tablespoons butter (optional)
Spoon
Stir beef, bread crumbs, salt, paprika, garlic powder, and minced garlic in a bowl until all ingredients are evenly dispersed.
Separate into four even sections. Roll sections with hands against hard surface to create elongated shape. Toss on the grill.
If you would like to top your burger with sautéed onions, cut your onion into slices so that it creates rings.
Toss the onions on the grill with a cube of butter on the top of each slice.
Flip when the butter melts.
Coat the inside of each bun with butter.
Toast buns on the grill for about two minutes.
About a minute before burgers are cooked to you desired temperature toss the cheese on the burgers so it starts melting.
Assemble burgers and serve.
